The meaning of RSS

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.
Rss is a great way to keep your readers coming back to your site to read your updates. Before people can get your blog updates in their emails they will need to subscribe to your blog rss with their emails.when they do this they will have to go and activate the subscription by activating it on their email inbox. After that they will start receiving all your new posts directly in their emails. This is a major key/factor to consider when creating a blog.It helps you get more readers and keep them coming back to read your posts unlike most blogs where people visit and after reading the post ,they forget the site never to come back to it. Rss ensures that this does'nt happen.

To get people subscribe to your rss feed, there are certain factors to consider in order to make it work for you:
1.Display the rss subscription button at a visible area to your readers. Most rss suscription buttons are not  seen by the readers due to the area where it is located. The best location for rss is at the blog header.Another great location is at the footer.

2.Make the process of subscription easier for the readers. When readers want to subscribe to your blog's rss feed and they find out that the process of subscription is a long and difficult one, they simply forgo it.

If you know of other factors to consider for the effectiveness of rss, include it to the post through the comments... like us on facebook www.facebook.com/techgists and follow us on twitter @ www.twitter.com/techalumniblog .... thank you
